The Location
​
Yunbenun - the name given to this land by her traditional custodians, the Wulgurukaba.
Now widely known as Magnetic Island, this little known oasis with a small resident community rests quietly just 20 minutes off the coast of North Queensland.
​
Speak to anyone that's been, and they'll tell tales of 'the calm' that meets them when they step off the ferry, the sounds of the native bird life that stay with you long after you've left and the all emcompassing need to not leave once they've experinced this kind of island life.
​
Before you reach your Escape home of Picnic Bay, you'll see balancing granite boulders from the water, lined by towering hoop pines keeping watch over secluded bays, on an island filled with mystery, covered in open eucalypt woodlands, vine forest and surrounded by coral reefs.

Driftwood
Also set on the secluded Nobby's Headland, Driftwood is set amongst Magnetic Island's granite boulders and natural bushland. Perfectly positioned on the sunset side of the Headland to capture a commanding view across the water, it offers unparalleled quiet, sweeping views over the ocean towards the mainland. Enjoy the views from its many lounge areas, relax around the infinity pool, or take in the quiet on your own secluded, sandy beach below the house.

Tranquillity Base
A beautiful, architecturally designed space that will also serve as our Escape Base.
This is the space we'll all meet to share group meals and hold our workshops through the week.
The third property on the Nobby Headland, perched around the rocky headland in a magic natural setting. The water and bush views are panoramic from the luxury living spaces both inside and out.
With extensive undercover decking on three sides of the house, and marvellous views available 180 degrees, this is one of Magnetic Island's most stunning homes on offer.

EEAST
Located on the beachfront of Picnic Bay, this two storey, 3 bedroom space has two large outdoor entertaining areas, a covered deck off the master bedroom suite upstairs and the deck downstairs providing a second lounge & dining area and the plunge pool, all enjoying spectacular views across the bay. This event space is located a short 9 minute walk along the beachfront to reach Escape Base each morning.

I'm the founder of La Nomadica and its big sister company, Innerbloom Mind+Body.
A lover of people, the planet and our connection to one another. I've spent my adult life travelling the world looking for magical places to spend time, explore and live, and this Island is where I'm lucky enough to call my home. I spend my weekends exploring its bush trails, swimming in its bays and listening to the forest breathe from my backyard.

Through my lifestyle coaching and consulting business, Innerbloom, I've worked with women looking for direction in their careers, for ways to create more personal freedom, for ways to tap into their interests and how they fit in the world, and ultimately create a life they are unequivocally in love with.
